About the Role

We are seeking an experienced individual to fill this exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will have a trade qualification (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or building) and a current clean driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general maintenance repairs, including electrical and plumbing work, carpentry, and building tasks
  • Perform gardening maintenance duties, such as sweeping, hosing, mowing lawns, hedging, and general garden maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, demonstrating empathy and understanding of the needs of aged residents
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A trade qualification in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or building
  • A current clean driver's license
  • Previous experience in building, fitter and turner, welder, or plumber is desirable
  • Experience as a Maintenance Person or Handy Man/Women in Aged Care or similar industry is also desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and within a wider team of stakeholders
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and/or families
