Opportunity Overview
The Faculty of Education at Southern Cross University is looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Education, focusing on Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE). This role is pivotal in advancing educational practices through teaching, research, and community engagement.
Our Faculty is globally recognized for its collaborative and interdisciplinary research in education and social sciences. We are at the forefront of addressing significant educational challenges both locally and internationally, with research initiatives including the Sustainability, Environment, and the Arts in Education (SEAE) Research Centre, TeachLab, and the Early Years Research Lab (EYRL).
Key Responsibilities
This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, deepening their understanding of Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), a crucial aspect of the educational curriculum. You will also engage in groundbreaking educational research, amplifying your influence in the field. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, along with effective educational design and implementation.
- Conducting research and scholarly activities that align with the Faculty's strategic objectives.
- Participating in community and professional engagement initiatives that enhance the University and Faculty's visibility and impact.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant field, along with an initial teacher education qualification and a proven record of excellence in teaching across various educational programs. Additionally, you should have:
- Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative curricula and teaching resources that enhance student learning in a university context.
- A strong research or teaching scholarship record appropriate to your career stage, including publications in reputable journals, external research funding, and supervision of research candidates.
- Evidence of active participation in and contributions to professional partnerships, staff development, and community engagement.
Compensation and Benefits

- Full-time and ongoing (permanent).
- Available at multiple locations, with generous relocation support offered.
- Compensated at Academic Level C or B, based on qualifications and experience.
- Academic Level C: Base salary ranges from $128,427 to $147,663 per annum, plus a 17% employer contribution to superannuation, totaling up to $172,765.
- Academic Level B: Base salary ranges from $105,344 to $124,585 per annum, plus a 17% employer contribution to superannuation, totaling up to $145,764.
