We are currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to oversee commissioning activities for major industrial projects on-site.

Job Overview

This critical role involves ensuring that control systems are properly installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with technical, functional and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMIs and networked automation infrastructure.

Main responsibilities include leading and executing commissioning of control systems, site-based functional testing, loop checking, fault-finding and system tuning.

  • Lead the execution of commissioning for control systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs and networked automation infrastructure.
  • Perform site-based functional testing, loop checking, fault-finding and system tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Interface with various project stakeholders including construction, electrical, instrumentation and OEM teams to coordinate commissioning activities effectively.
  • Validate I/O schedules, control philosophies and P&IDs against system performance to ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluate system compliance with project specifications, Australian standards and client requirements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across control and communication systems promptly.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning documentation including test reports, redlines, punch lists and progress tracking.
  • Support site acceptance testing (SAT) and handover to operations seamlessly.

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic or similar), possess at least 5 years of relevant industry experience and be proficient in major PLC/SCADA platforms.

Australian citizenship or valid work visa is mandatory.
