Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in a state secondary school in Victoria, Australia. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to provide mental health support and promote a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students with mild to moderate mental health concerns
  • Develop and implement mental health programs and strategies to promote student well-being and resilience
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate mental health support into the school curriculum and daily operations
  • Work with families and community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to student mental health
  • Provide professional development and training to school staff on mental health topics
Requirements
  • Qualifications as a psychologist, social worker, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, or counselor
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health principles and practices
  • Current Working With Children Check
