Job Overview

Mechanical Design Engineers play a pivotal role in conceptualising, designing and delivering innovative solutions to the drilling, tunnelling and boring industry. As a key member of our team, you will lead mechanical design engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring timely, within-scope and on-budget completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design engineering projects, aligning with strategic objectives and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure engineering excellence and drive efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex challenges, including finite element analysis (FEA) and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, Australian standards and internal processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with postgraduate or leadership training.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably with hands-on experience in drilling or vacuum trucks.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor preferred), FEA software and project management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
