Delivering Effective Interpretation Services

About the Role

The Court Interpreter role is responsible for providing accurate and high-quality interpreting services at courts in various community languages. This ensures fair and equal access to justice for all participants.

  • Interpreting for a variety of court matters onsite at different locations, five days a week.
  • Managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicating effectively with diverse customers to facilitate communication.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments to maintain compliance with current standards and codes of ethics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services in Arabic or Mandarin.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate interpretation services.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) certification in Arabic or Mandarin.
  • Over five years' experience interpreting in court settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to perform under pressure.
