Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Risk Legal Governance team at MLC Life Insurance. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal support for a range of work streams, with a particular focus on life insurance claims, including disputes. Your responsibilities will include providing efficient and effective legal support to Claims Consultants and members of the Claims Leadership Team, managing a portfolio of litigated matters, and advising MLC Resolve in relation to IDR and EDR disputes.
About YouThe successful candidate will be a commercially focused lawyer with 5+ years PQE in an Australian jurisdiction in life insurance law, specifically in relation to life insurance claims issues. You will also have prior experience in providing advice on life insurance claims issues and in responding to Regulatory Notices. You will need to have a current and unrestricted Australian practicing certificate, demonstrated effectiveness at managing multiple stakeholders and competing demands, and strong problem-solving and influencing skills.
