Strategic Financial Planning Lead

This senior leadership role focuses on supporting the Head of Group Planning to oversee and manage planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives across the business. You will work closely with divisional leaders to gather financial information in an accurate and timely manner, measuring financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and presenting findings to senior management.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, actuarial, investment management, or banking roles, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry. They will also possess relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, actuarial, or business, with a proven track record in FP&A, coaching, mentoring, and team development.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, financially astute, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with financial modeling and project management is preferred but not essential. This role requires strong partnership and communication skills to foster a productive working relationship between Group teams and Divisional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Group Planning in managing planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with divisional leaders to gather financial information and present findings to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain Group Planning & Forecasting Requirement documents and update planning models as required.
  • Build a foundation of trust and advisory relationships with divisional leaders to ensure alignment with the Group Portfolio Optimisation.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary degree in accounting, finance, actuarial, or business.
  • Extensive experience in accounting, actuarial, investment management, or banking roles, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience with FP&A, coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Commercially aware and financially astute mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
