Senior Project Officer - Homelessness

Job Summary

This role supports and coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects and initiatives to address homelessness across the Hunter Central Coast District. The Senior Project Officer (Homelessness) plays a pivotal role in facilitating local consultation to ensure improved client outcomes in the specialist homelessness services sector and supports the implementation of projects under the NSW Homelessness Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate cross-agency partnerships to support joint planning and homelessness providers, Local Health Districts, and local councils.
  • Lead on continuous service improvement activities in consultation with providers, including consultation, reporting, and accountability processes.
  • Enhance collaboration between district specialist homelessness services and mainstream services through the work of District Homelessness Implementation Groups/working groups.
  • Collaborate with providers to support the implementation and delivery of various homelessness services.
  • Lead procurement activities and commissioning of homelessness services.

This role provides the opportunity to influence engagement with the sector and the local supply of services, while supporting stakeholder relationships directly contributing to better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Current driver's license.

About the Role

This is a temporary role in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act. The Senior Project Officer - Homelessness will work closely with Homes NSW and be responsible for providing strategic oversight of homelessness projects and initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with non-government organizations and government agencies on the development and implementation of service delivery.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Specialist Homelessness Services sector.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience working in a high-volume environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and coordinating a range of projects.
  • Sound research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Computer and systems competency.
  • Sound research and analysis skills to support evidence-based decisions.
