Job Summary:

The Production Coatings Specialist is responsible for performing tasks associated with the preparation and application of coatings on equipment for the Port Macquarie manufacturing and service business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sections, parts, materials, and equipment for coating application
  • Apply coatings according to product Technical Data Sheets and manufacturer recommendations
  • Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning agents
  • Adjust coating application settings to achieve quality finish outcomes in a safe environment
  • Determine coating flow, viscosity, and quality by performing visual inspections
  • Operate machinery and equipment
  • Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary
  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • Perform general ad-hoc duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills, including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, and understand basic numeracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to take direction and work as part of a busy team
  • Good communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
