The Port Hedland Operations Team is seeking experienced Paint & Blasters to assist with Structural Integrity and general maintenance works on fixed plant equipment around the Port Hedland and Pilbara regions. As a Paint & Blaster you'll be preparing and finishing surfaces by sandblasting, cleaning, and applying protective coatings or paints on various structures.

Some of your key responsibilities would include:

  • Cleaning surfaces prior to and after surface preparation to specification
  • Mixing paint according to instructions. Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
  • Use of hand tools, such as: paint brushes; rollers; sanding blocks; wallpaper cutters; trimming knives; and fillers and spatulas
  • Ensure protective coatings are applied using brush, roller, and spray equipment.
  • Applying paints to surfaces using all forms of brushes and roller nap types, using appropriate techniques to minimise drips, runs, and brush marks, and to maintain straight edges
  • Ensure all finished coatings have been verified and inspected after coating has been completed
  • Ensure all coatings complies with standards and specifications that meets Industry, Customer, and Business System requirements
