Technical Operations Lead

This is a key leadership role within the Observing Systems and Operations Program, providing specialist advice, direction, and guidance on observing infrastructure architecture and equipment.
The Technical Operations Lead manages a diverse team of specialists responsible for developing and designing engineering and technological solutions, including level three support, across a range of technologies from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations, and satellites to ships at sea, to meet business needs.
To achieve this, the Technical Operations Lead will actively engage with industry and stakeholders, including the science and engineering communities, to continuously improve observations infrastructure.
Responsibilities include establishing capability, strategy, and methods for providing required observations for Bureau services.
A successful applicant will have extensive experience in engineering planning and delivery, advanced stakeholder management capabilities, and high-level management skills, as well as the ability to distil significant issues from complex material to develop workable solutions to problems.
