Armourer Fitter

The role of Armourer Fitter involves performing maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military hardware and Defence armaments.

Maintenance is performed to ensure that all plant and equipment are serviceable and fit for purpose. This includes certification of equipment as per specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing maintenance and repairs on military hardware and Defence armaments.
  • Certifying plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.
  • Providing support to various Defence Bases across the state with Armoury maintenance.

Key skills and qualifications required include:

  • A Trade Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical (Fitter & Turner) or Certificate III in Engineering Mechanic (General Fitter).
  • A valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Physical fitness and a willingness to work hands-on.
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
