Windana is seeking an AOD Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Maryknoll Therapeutic Community.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with lived experience of alcohol and other drug treatment and recovery to share their expertise and support others in their recovery journey.

As an AOD Peer Support Specialist, you will work with residents in the AOD withdrawal program, drawing upon your own experiences to provide support and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support and guidance to residents in the AOD withdrawal program.
  • Assist with the delivery of program materials from a peer perspective.
  • Support residents in Rehabilitation Services, including those on the waitlist, preadmission group, Welcome House program, and Aftercare.
  • Participate in offsite visits and provide support as needed.
Requirements
  • Lived experience of alcohol and drug treatment and recovery.
  • Completed SHARC Peer Training.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and clear speaking.
  • Ability to maintain clear boundaries and engage in self-reflection.
