About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Network Specialist to join our team at Ventia. As a key member of our network construction, deployment, and maintenance team, you will be responsible for designing and provisioning network elements and services on both existing and new transport platforms.

Salary

The salary for this role is approximately $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of employee benefits, including access to corporate travel discounts, novated leases, private health discounts, and more.

About the Job
  1. Maintain and enhance working relationships within the team and assist in resolving any team issues or conflicts.
  2. Commission and integrate L2 and L3 Transmission Nodes into existing transport networks.
  3. Decommission redundant network elements, links, and services.
  4. Report and liaise with both customer and internal departments on project outcomes.
  5. Take part in Customer Relationship Management, involving project status reports and issue management.
Requirements
  • Experience in Telecommunication Core and Access Transport designing, integration, provisioning, and fault finding.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering preferably in Telecommunications or Information Technology.
  • Ability to provision services on transport platforms fibre, DWDM, SDH, and Ethernet.
  • Strong knowledge of provisioning tools and systems including Helix, Spatial Web, VMR, and Meerkat.
  • Very good knowledge of MPLS/IP networks including layer 3 routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF) and IPV4 & IPV6 addressing schemes.
  • Knowledge of Network Management Systems including (but not limited to): Huawei, Juniper Projen, and Alcatel SAM (Service Aware Manager)
