About the Role

At Optus, we're shaping the future of telecommunications. As a Satellite Network Operations Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the success of our satellite operations team.

This position is based at our Lockridge Earth Station in Western Australia, where you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our satellite network to meet customer needs and service availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the surveillance and control of all activities associated with the operation of the Optus Satellite Network.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with Optus Satellite customers at a systems operations level.
  • Rapidly diagnose and restore any service difficulties or impairment that arise on the Optus Satellite Network.
  • Control, monitor, and fault manage TT&C and Department of Defence services.
  • Ensure quality customer network service by monitoring planned work processes and managing faults within service level guarantees.
  • Proactively review processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Valid West Australian (or equivalent) Drivers Licence.
  • Australian Citizenship required, with a defence security clearance to the level of 'NV1' needed to work at Lockridge earth station.
  • Extensive experience in the Telecommunications and Satellite Communications Industries, with some Network management experience desirable.
  • Background in Satellite Broadcasting with a good working knowledge and experience of Satellite Transmission technologies and systems.
  • Experience with maintaining and operating satellite or other radio-based technologies.
About You

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under limited supervision.

In return, we offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per annum, plus benefits such as inclusive paid parental leave, access to training and development opportunities, and a comprehensive rewards program.
