About the Role

This is a key opportunity to join our team as a Waterways and Land Officer

You will play a pivotal role in managing and improving Melbourne's waterways, catchments, drainage and land. You will work on meaningful projects that make a real difference to the environment and the community.

  • Our goal is to ensure that Melbourne's water cycle is protected and enhanced.

  • We are seeking an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable engagement with stakeholders, including local governments, community groups, and first nations' groups.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, including waterway planning and rehabilitation, statutory planning processes, and asset management.

You will be required to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including external organizations and the general public, sometimes in conflict situations.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary degree in environmental management, environmental science, science, or environmental or civil engineering, or relevant experience.

A valid Victorian Driver's License is also a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve Melbourne's waterways, catchments, drainage and land.

  • Work on meaningful projects that make a real difference to the environment and the community.

  • Engage with stakeholders, including local governments, community groups, and first nations' groups.

  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including external organizations and the general public.

Requirements

  • Tertiary degree in environmental management, environmental science, science, or environmental or civil engineering, or relevant experience.

  • Valid Victorian Driver's License.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive, solutions-focused, continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated resilience.
