Senior Clinical Social Worker Position

This is a senior-level social work role that requires advanced clinical expertise and leadership skills.

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a clinical specialty, with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
  • They will be able to lead, manage complex cases independently, and provide expert clinical supervision to staff and students.
  • The successful applicant will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build trust, support diversity, and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-level social work services within a specialized clinical area. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced clinical knowledge and skills to support patients with complex needs.

You will have the opportunity to provide direct clinical care while also offering expert consultancy to colleagues and guidance to management on best practice approaches. In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will provide supervision to social work staff and students, and contribute to education and training across the Single Service, Multiple Site model.

Your leadership will extend to initiating and participating in quality improvement initiatives and research activities aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. an appropriate qualification in Social Work, eligible for full AASW membership
  2. extensive experience in a clinical specialty
  3. advanced clinical expertise and leadership skills
  4. strong interpersonal and communication skills
