Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Work Leader to join our team at the Women's & Children's Health Network. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop social work services across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The successful candidate will provide clinical governance and leadership for Social Work services, collaborate with CAMHS Executive and key stakeholders on service development initiatives, and lead relevant quality improvement initiatives. They will also facilitate access to professional training and clinical support activities, work in partnership with key stakeholders on service quality and workforce development, act as a consultant and professional advisor on Social Work professional issues, consult with staff on complex clinical cases and manage a complex clinical case load, and provide clinical supervision and support to AHP3 Senior Social Workers, other Social Workers, and designated staff across CAMHS.

This role requires a high level of leadership and interpersonal skills to build trust, cooperation, and commitment among CAMHS and Health Network staff to achieve change and organisational objectives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated extensive experience in clinical leadership and the facilitation of service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of Social Work services.

In addition to leading and developing social work services, the successful candidate will also be responsible for providing strategic consultation and liaison, discipline-specific professional coordination, and leadership across CAMHS to address clinical matters affecting Social Work service planning decisions, policy, and workforce.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers;
  • High level leadership and interpersonal skills to build trust, cooperation, and commitment among CAMHS and Health Network staff;
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in clinical leadership and the facilitation of service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of Social Work services;
  • Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in collaborative development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of planned interventions for infants, children, young people, and their families with high or complex mental health problems;
