Job Overview

To ensure the continued success and reliability of our operations, we seek a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Coupled Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) Asset Team at our manufacturing facility in Port Kembla.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with mechanical aptitude to contribute to the daily maintenance and upkeep of production critical equipment within the CPCM.

  • Perform routine inspections and fault-finding on equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance tasks as required, including isolating equipment for shutdown works and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance practices.

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and support out-of-hours activities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Mechanical fitter/machinist qualifications consisting of either a Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma.

  • Relevant experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a maintenance management role.

  • Basic computer skills and exposure to maintenance management systems.

  • A strong commitment to lifelong learning and a willingness to develop new skills and knowledge in the role.
