Unique Winemaking Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our winery team as a Trainee Assistant Winemaker. This fixed-term opportunity is perfect for recent graduates or those looking to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of winery operations.

As a Trainee Assistant Winemaker, you will work alongside our experienced Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker, learning about every step of the process from pre-vintage through to packaging.

  • Assist with daily winery operations throughout the year, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
  • Contribute to quality control and preparation of wines for bottling, guaranteeing exceptional standards.
  • Gain knowledge of blending, fining, and disgorging trials, developing your skills in wine production.
  • Work on bottling, tirage, and disgorging lines, gaining hands-on experience in wine processing.
  • Perform fruit delivery and processing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Assist with sparkling, white, and red wine fermentation management, supporting the winemaking process.
  • Carry out cellar operations including additions, stabilities, rackings, transfers, and filtration, maintaining a clean and organized cellar environment.
  • Assist with lab work throughout the year, supporting the winemaking team with analytical tasks.
  • Manage barrels throughout the season, ensuring optimal storage and aging conditions.
  • Maintain cellar cleanliness and presentation to a high standard, promoting a safe and healthy working environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent graduate of a university winemaking program or equivalent experience.
  • Multiple vintages of cellar experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills essential.
  • Ability to physically perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols.
