About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Music Therapist to join our team, working closely with residential aged care facilities to deliver therapeutic interventions for residents experiencing low-moderate depression and anxiety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized creative therapy care plans, tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
  • Coordinate therapeutic group sessions, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for residents to engage with music-based interventions.
  • Conduct residential assessments, maintaining high-quality resident records and ensuring compliance with professional and legislative standards.
  • Collaborate with residential aged care facility staff, building strong relationships and promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in music therapy and registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and adapt to diverse residential settings.
  • Experience developing and delivering group-based therapeutic programs, with a focus on creative expression and emotional wellbeing.
  • A genuine interest in working with older adults, with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with aged care.
  • A flexible approach, with the ability to work in an outreach capacity and build strong relationships with residential staff.
