We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the implementation of our strategic and operational plans.
The successful candidate will oversee a comprehensive program of work in collaboration with our member libraries, including major projects, policy development, research collaborations, advocacy activity, professional networks, and advisory groups.
This role requires strong leadership skills, high-level strategic thinking, and the ability to negotiate with senior staff from our member libraries to reach consensus on priority pieces of work and resource allocation.
The Executive Director will communicate with the wider library, cultural, government, and research sectors on behalf of our member libraries.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the library sector and be able to demonstrate budget management skills, stakeholder management capability, and high-level strategic skills.
The Executive Director will report to the Chair of NSLA and manage a remote team of four, with colleagues based in Melbourne, Darwin, and Wellington, New Zealand.
We are open to applicants from across Australia, with the ideal candidate being stationed at our headquarters in Canberra.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a collaborative and dynamic team, driving strategic partnerships and advancing the interests of our member libraries.
