The role of a medical reviewer involves delivering high-quality medical opinions to support informed decision-making. You will work closely with peers, client services operations, customers, and consultants to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity in reports.
This is an integral position requiring excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to review specialist medical reports and deliver timely, independent medical opinions.
Key Responsibilities- Review specialist medical reports to deliver high-quality, timely, and independent medical opinions to customers
- Work closely with peers, client services operations, customers, and consultants to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity in reports for effective decision-making
- Ensure all legislative and customer compliance requirements are met prior to a report being released
- Troubleshoot and escalate inaccurate, deficient, or incomplete reports, discussing issues with referrers and consultants to resolve problems
- Identify, contribute to, and engage positively with report quality and process changes and enhancements to achieve constant improvement for stakeholders
- Understand and meet required quality and productivity targets
- Utilise established systems and processes to review and deliver medical reports securely and efficiently
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with consultants, practice managers, and customers to achieve report quality and timeliness standards
- Engage with referrers on report requirement clarifications and delivery status as required
Effective communication and relationship-building skills are essential in this role.
QualificationsTo be successful, you will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in personal injuries insurance, clinical practice, allied health, or other quality assurance roles
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and ability to learn Practice Manager operating systems
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and make critical judgement calls
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage high report volumes
- Ability to balance quality, speed, and accuracy
- High levels of emotional intelligence, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service
