About the Role

Moves pallets of merchandise on the sales floor utilizing a stand-up electric forklift/electric pallet jack. Ensures that pallets are stacked efficiently, and merchandise is wrapped in plastic wrap to maintain appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily forklift safety checklists must be completed.
  • Battery chargers must be used properly.
  • Aids in creating a drop list of merchandise for placement in aisles.
  • Communicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine merchandise placement.
  • Moves pallets of merchandise using electric forklift and electric pallet jack.
  • Serves as spotter to alert forklift driver if something is falling and keeps people out of the fall-danger zone.
  • Wraps pallets in plastic wrap and attaches merchandise tags.
  • Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets.
  • Removes empty pallets from the sales floor.
  • Rotates stock as necessary.
  • Ensures all pallets being placed meet Costco Standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery including forklift, electric pallet jack, battery charger, computer, calculator, shrink wrap machine, pallets, license labels, cutter, broom, and writing utensils.
  • Current forklift driving license required.
  • Merchandising or comparable experience beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills essential.

Additional Information:

  • A high school certificate or higher is required.
  • If successful, role-specific training will be undertaken within specified timeframes.
