Girton Grammar School is seeking an experienced educator to develop and deliver high-quality English lessons, maintaining and building on our academic success. This teaching position is full-time and ongoing, starting in January with flexible arrangements based on operational requirements.
Your primary responsibility will be teaching English VCE and 7-10, helping students develop a passion for the subject while developing their skills in reading and writing. You will engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons across VCE and years 7-10, fostering reading and writing proficiency.
- Design and deliver explicit, evidence-based lessons that incorporate current research-based pedagogies and trigger critical thinking, discussion, and analysis.
- Develop and implement a robust English curriculum that embeds cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and the Science of Learning.
- Collaborate with a supportive team to write and deliver lessons that provide students access to their preferred futures.
