Ship Operations Manager Job


This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to oversee the maintenance management services for assigned ships.


The Role: Ship Operations Manager


As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed safely within the agreed schedule, cost, and technical requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Understand and prioritize customer requests for assigned ships, hand over to appropriate teams, and process in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with customer representatives to ensure maintenance period work packages achieve required operational effectiveness and safety objectives for ships' next tasking.
  • Manage ship maintenance planning to allocate sufficient resources (labour, technical data, equipment, and materials) to meet schedule requirements.
  • Develop and manage detailed work order schedules and maintenance period work package schedules, understanding critical path activities and potential problem areas.
  • Rectify urgent defects, including liaising with customer representatives to define and agree scope of URDEF taskings.

Requirements:


  • Formal qualification in Engineering, Project Management, suitable trade, or engineering training and experience, or extensive industry experience in related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety at complex industrial sites.
  • Administration experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external customers.
  • Experience in managing production work packages.
  • Background in ship building/ship repair or similar heavy engineering industry and/or civil engineering field.
