About the Role

The Coffs Harbour City Council is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in overseeing public and private land use to benefit the community while ensuring compliance with relevant Acts, Statutes, and the City's policies.

As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the customer-focused delivery of building and development compliance, incident and complaint management, as well as undertaking investigations and representing the City in legal proceedings when required.

Your expertise and experience will be invaluable in contributing to the improvement of business processes and supporting organisational initiatives.

About You
  • Hold a degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Urban & Environmental Planning, Building Surveying or a similar field, or equivalent demonstrated substantive experience in building, planning or a suitably related discipline.
  • Hold a current Class C driver's licence.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment, including its practical application relevant to the position.
  • Desirable: significant relevant industry experience with demonstrated skills and knowledge in building or development compliance, investigation, and evidence gathering.
