Job Opportunity: Fieldwork Placement Coordinator

The Fieldwork Placement Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring Community Services students acquire high-quality practical experience.

This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the coordinator to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external organizations and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of community services field placements, including system development, relationship building, and compliance management.
  • Provide essential support and guidance to students, agency supervisors, and host organizations throughout the placement process.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and the Work Placement Team to develop policies, administer agreements, oversee student records, and maintain academic standards.
  • Design and deliver preparation workshops for students, and recruit, train, and support Academic Liaison Visitors.
  • Foster a positive culture, uphold professional values, ensure regulatory compliance, and engage in continuous professional development.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor Degree or higher in Social Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, or Human Services, and a minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification industry experience.
  • Full membership, or eligibility for full membership, of the Community Work Australia (CWA).
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the community services sector informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice.
  • Experience in supervising community services students in work-based contexts.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the capacity to handle complex or sensitive matters with professionalism, confidentiality, empathy, and discretion.
  • Advanced problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet competing deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accreditation requirements, Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines of Community Work Australia (CWA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and demonstrated ability to learn, implement, and promote business systems and databases.
