Medical Academic Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary leader to join us as Medical Academic Leader.

This pivotal role provides an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on medical education, research, and health outcomes both locally and globally.

You will lead the Discipline of Medicine, overseeing strategic initiatives, governance, administration and staff management, while advancing the development of rural health training programs and impactful research.

Main Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree in Medicine (PhD, MD or DPhil) and current registration as a medical practitioner.
  • A demonstrated record of leadership in Medicine at the state, national or international level.
  • Extensive clinical and academic experience, with understanding of issues challenging the delivery of rural and remote health, and an understanding of Aboriginal health issues.
  • An outstanding track record in research, innovation, leadership or educational scholarship.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with cross-cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated ability to foster a supportive working environment for staff and students.
  • A commitment to upholding relevant policies, procedures and legislation in the execution of your role.
