About the Position: As a senior accountant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the practice's diverse portfolio of clients.

This full-time position is based in Mount Waverley, VIC. You will be responsible for providing high-quality financial reporting, accounting and advisory services, working closely with our experienced team and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice.

The company provides professional and proactive service to support their clientele in their business, personal, and retirement goals.

They specialize in taxation and accounting for the SME sector and value timely communication, both with clients and within the firm.

All work is prepared and reviewed in-house, and they do not outsource taxation and compliance work to overseas service providers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level accounting and advisory services to clients
  • Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting documents for clients with various entity types, including trusts, companies, and individuals
  • Provide strategic business advice and recommendations to help clients achieve their business and personal goals
  • Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and resolve issues
  • Supervise staff when required, enabling a high level of service to clients
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with the broader team to identify business opportunities and expand the client base

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience in public accounting or professional services
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, with expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and business advisory services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships
  • Experience using BGL Simple Fund, MYOB, and Xero accounting software
  • Experience with tax areas such as Div 7A, CGT, and FBT
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality work
  • Commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends
  • CPA or CA qualification
