Job Summary:
The Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to fill the role of Senior Mental Health Advisor. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the appropriate use of clinical evidence to support veterans and their families to access healthcare services within their entitlements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of mental health professionals to provide clinical advice and support to veterans and their families.
- Develop and implement clinical governance frameworks to ensure high-quality mental health services are delivered to veterans.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive quality improvement and change management initiatives within the team.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on mental health research and policy to inform decision-making.
- Promote workplace practices consistent with the APS Values and maintain excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA or unrestricted registration as a psychologist with AHPRA with additional relevant experience and training.
- Significant (at least 5 years) clinical experience across health areas of specific interest to DVA (e.g., general mental health, trauma, drug and alcohol).
- Recent independent clinical practice in a relevant field.
