Key Initiatives for the Head of School Role">

The role of Head of School involves leading a strategic project to enhance governance and support for students with disabilities across identified sites.

This entails reviewing current systems and processes at all stages of the NCCD data collection, building relationships with external providers in each community, and streamlining information-sharing and parental consent processes.

The position requires collaboration with schools, Regional Student Services teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate NCCD data and develop inclusive practices.

  • Collaborate with Principals, Deputy Principals (SWD), Heads of Special Education, and teachers to implement change initiatives.
  • Review current staffing models for discrete communities and explore alternative engagement options.
  • Provide targeted support to schools to maintain their NCCD data and embed processes for facilitating student engagement.
  • Develop staff capability to identify and implement adjustments to support students with disabilities.
  • Establish cross-site collaboration processes to share ideas and facilitate continuity of practice.
