About the Role

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to join our WA System Design and Transformation team. As a Program Manager - Energy Systems, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of a portfolio of major initiatives, including the Engineering Roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business cases and project briefs to drive the delivery of energy system initiatives
  • Lead the development and maintenance of risk and issues registers, project and engagement plans, and budgets
  • Collaborate with managers to optimize SME resource allocation and track progress and budget
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to teams to ensure successful delivery of energy system initiatives

Requirements

  • Extensive leadership experience in complex analytical, regulatory, or operational roles in the electricity, gas, or other utilities sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Experience in successful priority setting, scheduling, and delivery in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating and influencing outcomes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the operation of energy markets and power systems is advantageous
