About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our team at The University of Western Australia. As a Research Associate, you will play a key role in co-designing and trialing management strategies for Aboriginal women with prediabetes in pregnancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the ORCHID Study team and participating communities to co-design and trial management strategies for pregnant Aboriginal women with prediabetes.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of simplified screening approaches for high blood glucose levels in pregnancy.
- Collaborate with Aboriginal Research Fellows and the ORCHID Study team to analyze and interpret data.
- Develop and maintain relationships with participating communities and health services.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and society, and health and wellbeing.
- Highly developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience and skills in research, including community research design, analysis and reporting.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Aboriginal health and wellbeing, and has a strong understanding of the cultural and social determinants of health. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
