Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Amazon in Australia. As a key member of our safety management team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive safety culture across our operations sites.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in creating a safe and healthy work environment for our associates. You will be responsible for conducting daily, weekly, and monthly audits to identify compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities.

You will also facilitate incident investigation processes, perform safety observations and targeted training to upskill teams on safety responsibilities, and collaborate with site operations teams and the WHS manager to execute company policies and ensure regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our WHS Management System in Australia, contributing to the development of procedures, training materials, and inspection programs that align with Amazon's Global WHS Standards (GEMS).

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to identify compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities.
  2. Facilitate incident investigation processes and maintain accurate safety incident information.
  3. Perform safety observations, audits, and targeted training to upskill teams on safety responsibilities.
  4. Collaborate with site operations teams and the WHS manager to execute company policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  5. Participate in process improvement activities and drive actions to completion.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace.
  • Experience in workplace health & safety (WHS) related field.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.

Award: Estimated annual salary $80,000 - $110,000 AUD
