Qantas Group is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its high-performing legal team. As a key member of the Airline Services Team, you will provide high-quality legal advice to clients across various areas, including operational, regulatory, procurement, and general commercial matters.

About the Role:

  • Provide Legal Analysis and Advice: Assist clients in making informed decisions by analyzing and advising on critical projects, transactions, risks, and business initiatives.
  • Negotiate, Draft, and Review Contracts: Collaborate with clients to negotiate, draft, and review contracts in line with Qantas Group's risk framework.
  • Prepare Regulatory Submissions: Prepare and submit regulatory and other matters to ensure compliance and maintain the company's reputation.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 Years PQE: Possess a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate, regulatory, or commercial law disciplines, with a focus on M&A and technology contracting experience.
  • Law Degree and Practising Certificate: Hold a law degree and a current Practising Certificate in New South Wales or Victoria.
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrate proven experience in corporate/commercial law disciplines, particularly contract drafting and negotiating, commercial advice, complex transactions, litigation, regulatory safety, and environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Possess confident and effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of relating well to people at all levels in an organization.
  • Sound Organizational and Time Management Skills: Exhibit sound organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex matters and prioritize conflicting tasks while working under pressure.
