About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior legal counsel with 6+ years of experience in the energy retail sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal support to the Board, Executive team, and business units, ensuring the company minimises legal risk.

Key Accountabilities
  • Timely and Commercial Legal Advice: Provide expert legal guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure effective decision-making and minimal legal risk.
  • Agreement Preparation and Review: Assist in preparing and reviewing agreements to maximise commercial outcomes and mitigate potential risks.
  • Legal Review of Marketing Materials: Conduct thorough reviews of marketing materials, customer collateral, training, and scripts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Dispute Management: Effectively manage legal disputes to protect the company's interests.
  • Regulatory Support: Collaborate with the General Manager of Compliance to respond to regulator inquiries and information requests.
About You

We are seeking an experienced lawyer with the following skills and qualifications:

  • 6+ Years Post-Admission Experience: Proven track record of providing high-quality legal services in the energy retail sector.
  • Risk Management Skills: Ability to identify and mitigate key risks with internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation and Influencing: Excellent negotiation and influencing skills to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Effective Communication: Highly developed communication skills to deliver complex ideas simply and powerfully.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and knowledge of relevant areas of law.
  • Independence and Self-Motivation: Independent and self-motivated individual who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annumAbout Us
