Job Title: Risk Operations Specialist

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial banking, credit assessment and risk operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough credit assessments of high-risk sellers, including website analysis and exposure calculations
  • Support both Risk Onboarding and Merchant Onboarding operations as business needs evolve
  • Partner with Sales, Legal and Finance teams to optimise merchant processes
  • Build frameworks that enable principled risk-taking in new markets and products
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of credit policies and operational structures
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement strategic programs
  • Share knowledge and foster accountability within the team

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial banking, commercial credit or the payments industry
  • Strong understanding of KYC, KYB and merchant onboarding processes
  • Proficiency in credit assessment and risk operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong internal and external communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities Include

  1. Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct detailed analyses of high-risk sellers' websites, evaluate non-delivery risks, and calculate exposure levels.
  2. Operational Support: Assist in Risk Onboarding and Merchant Onboarding operations, adapting to evolving business needs.
  3. Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to streamline merchant processes, promoting efficient operations.
  4. Innovation and Framework Development: Establish frameworks that support informed risk-taking in emerging markets and products.
  5. Policy Creation and Refinement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies and operational frameworks.
  6. Process Improvement and Strategic Implementation: Identify areas for improvement and lead strategic initiatives to drive positive change.
  7. Team Knowledge Sharing and Accountability: Foster a culture of shared knowledge and responsibility within the team.
