Senior Software Engineer Lead

About the Role:

The Senior Software Engineer Lead is a technical expert responsible for overseeing the development of complex software systems. They lead a team of engineers, provide guidance on project plans and methodologies, and ensure direct reports are performing at their best.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement system architectures, leading to successful deployment of high-quality software solutions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow in their roles and develop new skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and create effective software designs.
  • Implement coding standards, code reviews, and ensure adherence to development processes.
  • Operate in various development environments while collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the team.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer or equivalent experience required.
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Strong experience with resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
  • Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources.
  • Test-driven development expertise.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages including optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
  • Ability to design and work with complex data models.
  • Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
  • Expertise in development languages including but not limited to: Rust, C/C++, UNIX.
  • Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills.
  • Problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating resources.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
