About the Role

The Client Services Representative plays a pivotal role as the primary point of contact for pension plan members. They deliver exceptional service and guidance throughout the pension lifecycle, effectively translating complex concepts into clear language to facilitate informed decision-making.

This involves providing prompt responses to member inquiries via various channels, including telephone, portal, and email. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to member inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Guide members through their pension journey from enrollment to retirement, offering real-time support and guidance
  • Identify opportunities to refer members to internal partners for additional support or escalation, collaborating to ensure effective resolution
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on pension plans and related legislation, updating template responses as necessary
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, participating in team meetings and events, and managing assigned workload efficiently
  • Proactively identify opportunities to add value, providing accurate and timely information to support member decision-making
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A university degree and/or college diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three years' experience in customer service, pension, insurance, or finance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and French, with the ability to communicate complex subject matter to diverse audiences
  • Understanding of Canadian pension and tax legislation, including ITA and PBA
  • Experience working within a contact center environment is an asset
  • Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to handle a wide range of client inquiries and provide accurate information promptly
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing environments
  • Proven ability to grasp and apply complex legislation to client queries for resolution of issues
