We are seeking a skilled professional to ensure the readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

This exciting opportunity requires a strong background in planning, coordination, and execution. You will be responsible for coordinating contractor tasks, managing inventory, and operating various target systems.

To succeed in this position, you must have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating contractor tasks for TAR (e.g. land care, cleaning, waste, estate upkeep).
  • Planning, deploying, testing and recovering live fire targets with Defence Units.
  • Managing TAR gates/flags per approved firing schedules.
  • Building and repairing targets using Defence supplies.
  • Conducting non-technical inspections and supporting contractor technical checks.
  • Maintaining TAR readiness (e.g. weed control, facility upkeep).
  • Operating DART, MTR, SMR & new target systems.
  • Managing inventory, stock control & storage.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in planning, placing, testing and recovering range live fire target equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various target systems such as DART, MTR, and SMR.
  • Experience in inventory control, stock management, and storage maintenance.
  • Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training would be highly regarded.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
