The Australian Antarctic Division is seeking a seasoned leader to fill the role of Assistant Director. This position requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills, able to foster a culture of safety, inclusion, equity and flexibility within the Maritime Asset Management Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the performance of team members and contractors, providing regular feedback and coaching to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate functional interfaces between RSV Nuyina and supporting capabilities, including Aviation Services, Polar Medicine Unit and ICT and Satellite Communications.
  • Work closely with the Capability Management, Contracts and Governance, Assurance and Compliance and Technical and Engineering teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Assist in projects related to the procurement of supplementary shipping services and the introduction of new maritime interface capabilities.
  • Oversee budgets and financial processes, ensuring alignment with the Department's strategic objectives.
  • Implement Government policies on behalf of the AAD with limited direction from the Director, Maritime Asset Management.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Government policies and procedures.
