Job Summary

Mission Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Program Facilitator to lead our Men's Behaviour Change Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping men understand the impact of their behaviour on women and children, and work with them to break the cycle of violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Delivery: Deliver registered men's behaviour change programs in both group and individual settings, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants.
  • Assessment and Support Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of family violence and risk factors, creating individualised support plans to address the needs of participants.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with the Department of Communities and Justice, Police, Courts, and other support services as required, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Partnership and Safety: Work closely with the Partner Case Worker to ensure the safety of women and children, prioritising their well-being and support.
Requirements for Success
  • Experience and Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years' experience working in the community service sector, particularly with DV or Justice, and a thorough understanding of the impacts of violence within intimate partner relationships. Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in Community Services or Mental Health are highly desirable.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent interviewing skills, experience in the use of Motivational Interactions, and good communication skills (written and spoken). A current NSW Driving Licence is also required.
  • Clearance and Checks: Prior to commencing work, you will need to undergo a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
