Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Manager to lead and manage the delivery of engineering services within our projects business.

The successful candidate will achieve all allocated engineering objectives while ensuring that all assigned scope of works are completed in accordance with established guidelines and standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Lead and manage project teams to deliver engineering services within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide strategic advice and direction on technical aspects of projects, including contract documents.
  • Team Management: Motivate and develop a strong, effective, and professional team.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project delivery.

Requirements:

  • A degree qualification in engineering or a related discipline from an Australian University or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience working in complex infrastructure projects with a minimum of 4 years in an engineering management/leadership position.
  • A proven track record in project engineering, delivering large and complex technology-based construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Rail industry experience is highly regarded.
