Operations Manager Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Water and Sewerage team as an Operations Manager.

The role involves managing the Water and Sewerage Operations team, ensuring the reliable supply of safe drinking water and the compliant treatment and disposal of wastewater for the community.

The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering these essential services in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise staff in alignment with Council's values, Code of Conduct, and workplace health and safety obligations.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of water and sewerage services to the community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in water utility operations.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in water and wastewater treatment processes, distribution systems.
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of asset management principles.
  • Experience implementing Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
