Job Title: Clinical Nurse Educator

At the core of this role lies the responsibility to provide comprehensive clinical education, training, and assessment of knowledge and skills. The aim is to foster improved nursing care within Western NSW Local Health District.

This Clinical Nurse Educator will lead by example in upskilling nurses across various proficiencies, facilitating learning through diverse approaches. They must demonstrate advanced clinical nursing skills, leveraging technology relevant to the clinical area, while showcasing a sound understanding of learning and assessment principles.

The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day and one-on-one clinical education, along with tailored in-services, to cater to team and individual learning needs. Furthermore, they will promote a culture of continuous learning and development within our framework.

Clinical leadership is at the forefront of this position, including preceptorship, mentorship, and role modelling, to support a collaborative approach to learning and development. This encompasses monitoring and evaluating educational programs through clinical competency assessments, identifying gaps and ensuring that clinical learning priorities are balanced with mandatory requirements.
