Job Title: Orchid Conservation Specialist

Job Description

As an Orchid Conservation Specialist, you will play a vital role in the management of common and threatened Australian terrestrial orchid species. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain an ex-situ research nursery collection of terrestrial orchids and difficult to propagate threatened Australian native plants.

You will also be responsible for systematically cleaning and sorting seed material in readiness for storage within the seedbank. Field work in remote areas for significant periods may be required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Degree or diploma in science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in horticultural techniques.
  • Experience in maintaining collections of Australian native plants, particularly terrestrial orchids (Desirable).
