About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our team at headspace Kalgoorlie. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting mental health awareness and engagement among young people and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community awareness programs to promote mental health and wellbeing among young people.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including community groups, schools, and healthcare providers, to promote mental health services and support.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a culturally and contextually appropriate Community Awareness Plan.
  • Manage and maintain the headspace Kalgoorlie website and social media platforms to engage with young people and promote services.
  • Produce high-quality promotional materials and documents to support community engagement and service promotion.
About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in community engagement, mental health promotion, and youth work. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. You will also have a strong understanding of relevant legislation, government policies, and strategic directions in relation to mental health and alcohol and other drug disorders.

Desirable criteria include experience in the Not for Profit and/or public health sector, as well as experience in a Youth Organisation, coordinating programs, education sessions, and youth participation.
