Penguin Conservation Coordinator

Overview Our organization is seeking a dedicated Penguin Conservation Coordinator to lead our volunteer guide program at Melbourne's remarkable little penguin colony. The role involves developing and delivering training sessions, managing weekly volunteer rosters, and providing ongoing support and recognition to volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit, train, and coordinate a team of passionate volunteer penguin guides who deliver educational experiences every night of the year
- Develop and deliver training sessions and educational resources for volunteers
- Manage weekly volunteer rosters and provide ongoing support and recognition
- Participate in guiding duties on the boardwalk one night per month
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to connect volunteers with other programs
- Experience in volunteer management or coordination (2+ years)
- Strong organizational and communication skills for engaging with volunteers and stakeholders
- Experience in training delivery or educational program development
- Genuine interest in wildlife conservation and environmental education
- Ability to work autonomously with flexible arrangements, including occasional evening sessions
This part-time role (14 hours/week) offers flexible working arrangements and the unique opportunity to help build meaningful community engagement with our incredible local penguin colony and their visitors.
